Francis Thomas Bacon

Francis Thomas Bacon, known as Tom, was an English engineer who in 1932 developed the first practical hydrogen-oxygen fuel cell, a device used to generate power for space capsules and satellites. He was an OBE, a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and a Fellow of the Royal Society.
