All Aircraft and Spacecraft Life Support and Pressurization Systems

In aeronautics, an environmental control system provides air supply, thermal control and cabin pressurization for the crew and passengers of an aircraft, along with additional functions such as cooling avionics, smoke detection and fire suppression. This class gathers the atlas's own technologies that protect a crew or passengers from an otherwise unsurvivable ambient environment, in an aircraft cabin or in the open environment of outer space: cabin pressurization pumps conditioned air into an aircraft or spacecraft cabin to create a safe, breathable environment at altitudes or in vacuum conditions the unprotected human body cannot tolerate, while a space suit is a highly specialized personal pressure suit providing the same essential protection, against the vacuum and temperature extremes of outer space, for an individual working outside a pressurized vehicle.
