All Communication Devices

This group gathers electrical engineering inventions built to send or receive information over a distance, including the telegraph and telephone in their many forms, radio, the radio telescope and radio direction finder, the fax machine, pager, mobile phone and walkie-talkie, the loudspeaker and microphone that carry a voice, television as a broadcast reception device, and the optical fiber that carries a signal as light. Their shared work is transmitting or receiving a message or signal between two points, as distinct from the circuit components that make up their internal electronics or the recording devices that store a signal rather than send it.
