Batteries

Devices that store chemical energy and release it as electric current, from the electric battery of one or more electrochemical cells to the rechargeable lithium-ion battery, which stores charge by moving lithium ions in and out of solids that conduct electrons. An invention belongs here when the cited article describes it as a battery or battery cell. It excludes fuel cells, which are fed a fuel from outside, and generators that make current from motion.
