Flashback Arrestor

A flashback arrestor, or flash arrestor, is a gas safety device used most commonly in oxy-fuel welding and cutting to stop a flame or a reverse flow of gas from travelling back up into the equipment or the supply line, protecting the user and the equipment from damage or explosion. Flashback arrestors are used mainly in industrial processes that handle oxy-fuel gas mixtures; older installations used wet flashback arrestors, while the industry standard today is a dry flashback arrestor built with at least two separate safety elements.
