Compressed Air Dryer

A compressed air dryer is a type of filter system specifically designed to remove water from compressed air. Compressing air raises its temperature and concentrates atmospheric contaminants, chiefly water vapor, so the compressed air leaves the compressor hot and effectively saturated; as it then cools, that water vapor condenses inside tanks, pipes, hoses and tools downstream of the compressor, where it can cause damage. A compressed air dryer removes the water vapor to prevent that condensation and to keep moisture from interfering with sensitive industrial processes.
