Computer Numerical Control

Industrial Engineering

Computer numerical control, or CNC machining, is the automated control of machine tools by a computer. It is an evolution of numerical control, in which machine tools were directly managed by data storage media such as punched cards or punched tape, and it has gradually replaced numerical control as computing costs declined because it allows for easier programming, modification and real time adjustment.
