Methods whose working purpose is the building, proving and documenting of aircraft and spacecraft: the ways light and strong airframe structures are laid up, cured, riveted and welded, the ways wings, whole aircraft and their parts are tested on the ground and in the air, and the controlled documents that fix how one system connects to another. Belongs here: composite layup, autoclave curing, friction stir welding, riveting, wind tunnel testing, flight testing, fatigue testing and the interface control document. Does not belong here: general metal forming or welding practice that is not tied to flight hardware, which sits with materials or mechanical engineering, and software or project management practice, which sits with software or industrial engineering.
