Hyundai Ulsan Plant

The Ulsan Plant is Hyundai Motor Company's principal production complex, located in Ulsan, South Korea, and is described as the world's largest single automobile manufacturing plant. Established in 1968, the complex covers about 1,200 acres and comprises five separate factories employing more than 34,000 workers, capable of producing on the order of 5,600 vehicles a day. The plant is self-contained, with its own shipping port, and produced the Hyundai Pony, South Korea's first mass-produced car, helping make Ulsan the birthplace of the country's automobile industry. It manufactures a broad range of models, from small cars to the luxury Genesis line.
