J-PARC, the Japan Proton Accelerator Research Complex, is a high intensity proton accelerator facility located at the Tokai campus of the Japan Atomic Energy Agency and run jointly by JAEA and the High Energy Accelerator Research Organization, KEK. It uses high intensity proton beams to generate high intensity secondary beams of neutrons, hadrons and neutrinos, supporting research at the frontier of materials science, life sciences, and nuclear and particle physics.
