The North African Power Pool, also known by its French name Comite Maghrebin de l'Electricite, is an association of five North African countries belonging to the Arab Maghreb Union, formed to interconnect their national electricity grids and enable the trading of power between members. Its member countries are Algeria, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco and Tunisia, each represented by its own national electricity utility. One of its key projects has been a roughly 2,700 kilometre high voltage transmission line intended to run from Morocco to Egypt through Algeria, Tunisia and Libya. It is one of five regional power pools covering the African continent.
