The Spallation Neutron Source is an accelerator based neutron source facility at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee that provides the most intense pulsed neutron beams in the world for scientific research and industrial development. It is a U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science user facility, managed by UT-Battelle, and each year it hosts hundreds of researchers from universities, national laboratories and industry conducting basic and applied research and technology development using neutrons.
