John von Neumann was a Hungarian-American mathematician whose 1945 report on the EDVAC described a computer that stores its own program as data in the same memory as the numbers it operates on, the stored-program design now called the von Neumann architecture and used by virtually every general purpose computer since. This entity records his engineering-architecture contribution on TechnologyAtlas, distinct from his mathematician facet minted separately on ScienceAtlas.
