Barcode and Matrix Code Inventors

Inventors of the printed codes that machines read to identify goods and information, including the barcode, patented in 1952 and later developed into the Universal Product Code, and the QR code, a two dimensional matrix code invented in Japan in 1994. A person belongs here when the cited article credits the person with inventing the barcode, the QR code or another printed machine readable code. It excludes the readers and scanners that decode the codes.
