Blender

A blender, sometimes called a liquidiser, is a kitchen and laboratory appliance used to mix, crush, puree or emulsify food and other substances, typically consisting of a container with a rotating blade at its base powered by an electric motor. It was invented in North America in the early 20th century by the Polish American chemist Stephen Poplawski, the owner of the Stevens Electric Company, who began designing drink mixers in 1919 and patented the device in 1922, introducing what became known as the liquefier blender that same year.
