FoldiMate was an automated laundry-folding machine developed by FoldiMate, Inc., a California-based robotics company founded in September 2012 by Israeli software engineer Gal Rozov. The device was designed to fold clothing in under four minutes and drew significant media attention when it was shown at technology conferences including CES in 2017 and 2018. Despite the interest it generated, the product never reached commercial viability and the company permanently ceased operations in 2021, with its domain later passing to the appliance maker Miele; it stands as a notable attempt to automate a household chore through robotics.
