The repeating crossbow, also known as the repeater crossbow and, because of its association with the Three Kingdoms era strategist Zhuge Liang, the Zhuge crossbow, is a crossbow invented during China's Warring States period. Its mechanism combines the separate actions of drawing the bowstring, placing the bolt, and firing into a single motion.
