Resin transfer molding is a process for manufacturing high performance fiber-reinforced composite components using a rigid, typically aluminum or steel, two-sided mold. Reinforcement material is placed into the mold cavity before the mold is closed, and liquid resin is then injected, or transferred, into the cavity to impregnate the reinforcement and form the finished part, at either ambient or elevated temperature.
