Total Station

A total station, or total station theodolite, is an electronic and optical instrument used for surveying and building construction. It combines an electronic transit theodolite with electronic distance measurement to record both vertical and horizontal angles and the slope distance from the instrument to a target point, and it includes an onboard computer that collects the data and performs triangulation and position resection and intersection calculations.
