Aerospace Engineering

Engineered systems whose defining purpose is flight or spaceflight: airframes, propulsion systems built for aircraft or spacecraft, and the guidance and structural systems that let a vehicle operate in the air or beyond it. Belongs here: complete aircraft, spacecraft and their major flight-critical subsystems, credited to the aerospace field rather than to a component field such as materials or electronics considered in isolation. Does not belong here: ground-support or manufacturing equipment used to build an aircraft, which belongs under whichever field actually engineered that equipment, or a propulsion system built for a non-flight vehicle, grouped under Mechanical or Marine Engineering.
