China Southern Power Grid Company Limited is one of two Chinese state owned enterprises created in 2002 under a power system reform ordered by the State Council, the other being the State Grid Corporation of China. Overseen by the State owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, it manages the investment, construction and operation of power transmission, transformation and distribution across China's five southern provinces of Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou and Hainan, while separate generation companies supply the power it carries. The company is headquartered in Guangzhou.
