SuperKEKB is a particle collider at the KEK laboratory in Tsukuba, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan, that collides electrons with positrons and serves as a second generation B factory for the Belle II experiment. An upgrade of the earlier KEKB accelerator delivering roughly forty times its luminosity, it achieved first beam circulation in February 2016, first collisions in April 2018, and on 15 June 2020 set the world record for instantaneous luminosity in a colliding beam accelerator.
