A carburetor is a device used on a gasoline fueled internal combustion engine to control and mix the air and fuel entering the engine. It adds fuel to the intake air mainly through the Venturi effect, Bernoulli's principle, or a pitot tube arrangement in its main metering circuit, with additional components supplying extra fuel or air under specific operating conditions.
