Drilling Rig

A drilling rig is an integrated system that drills wells, such as oil or water wells, or holes for piling and other construction purposes, into the earth subsurface. Rigs range from massive structures used to drill wells thousands of feet deep down to small, portable augers, and can be used to sample subsurface deposits, test the properties of rock and soil, and install subsurface fabrications, mounted on trucks, barges, ships or other mobile or stationary bases depending on the work required.
