Open Questions

The genuinely unresolved questions this atlas records rather than silently resolves: a disputed claim to inventing something first, an unclear attribution between rival inventors, or a disagreement between sources over how or when a technology was actually developed. Each open question names why it is open and is linked back to the entity it qualifies, rather than smoothed into one settled answer the sources do not actually support.
